This is a season.
Summer is a season. As are spring, winter, and fall but, a season isn't just time. It's people, experiences, hardships, places, moments, and so much more.
A season can last or it can pass. It could stay a while or you could barely catch a glimpse of it because it flew by. I sometimes wish I had a way to freeze specific moments and feelings into jars. Not just to look at and remember but, to truly immerse myself in the experience of the moment that has passed. But thats what moments are for. They don't stay and they aren't meant to.
It pushes me to sit. Sit as still as possible and experience with my whole being the moments that will inevitably pass. I have been blessed with so many moments in this season and who knows, maybe this season isn't even over.
What I can say right here and now in this moment is thank you. Thank you to a God so big his creation screams his name. Thank you for his children that he considers masterpieces above all else. Thank you for his love allowing me to love his people. Thank you for those who showed his love back to me because you know just how much he loves you so that you can love others.
Living would be bitter without the sweetness of the Lord. So thank you. Thank you God, thank you people, thank you for places and moments that refine and squeeze me into a new flesh.
One might say freshly squeezed. Just as hard bitter lemons can be pressed into sweet lemonade, I pray that over this next season. That as bitter as it gets, as hard as the world turns, we allow the pressure of the Lord to squeeze us into a delightful lemonade.
Breathe in the moments.
Sit.
Sit as still as possible. Listen to the world moving around you. Life simply living while you sit perfectly still in it.
And maybe even sit back with a nice cold glass of lemonade to sweeten the moment even more.
